Kristin Ryan
Kristin officially joined Hanson & Ryan in 2010, though she’s been part of the family business since she could crawl. After graduating from the University of Tampa with a degree in Business and Art, and earning an Associate’s in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology, she began her career in design before finding her way back to insurance. As the saying goes, “Once you enter this family, there’s no getting out.”
Over the years, Kristin has worn many hats at Hanson & Ryan from receptionist to claims before finding her passion in commercial insurance. She loves connecting with business owners, understanding what makes each operation unique, and helping them protect what they’ve built. In 2023, she earned her Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation to further enhance her expertise.
In 2018, Kristin and her sister, Carrie, purchased Hanson & Ryan from their father, Terry, proudly continuing the family legacy. As COO, she helps lead the agency’s growth while fostering the close knit culture that has defined Hanson & Ryan for generations. Kristin also serves as Chairwoman of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, New Jersey chapter, advocating for the industry and its future leaders.
When she’s not balancing business and mom life, you’ll find Kristin golfing, cheering on the Yankees, Giants, and Devils, or planning her next travel adventure with her two sons, Austin and Peyton, and their dog, Charley.
Fun Fact: The Soprano’s filmed in Kristin’s family home while she was growing up.
